Good for you, Niamh, tell your inner editor to back off for a while........happy dreaming, lovely quote by the way, I like to think that's the way I write, the characters kind of haunt me till I write their story.
Yes, definitely, tell the editor to back up a minute. She has to know her place, and let the magic happen!
Hope you get some rest and sweet dreams. It is kind of like cooking a wonderful soup...you have to let it simmer for a long while. :-)

@Brigid - I will - thats interesting, the characters haunt you untill you tell their story - I feel a short story idea in there!
@Niamh B - She's not happy, she's like Arnold Swarzineger -( "I'll Be back") in a bogwomans body.
@Carrie - I like the soup metaphor, I see a big cauldron..
I liken this to tuning out the static, so that I can get a clear signal on the radio. Some call it 'the zone'. In any event, if you're comfortable there, stay with it.
