Time Out For The Editor

Have sent the editor part of my mind to bed for a while. Letting the words and images emerge from within. That's where I'm at with my writing and rewriting. Just being carried along. I try not to listen when the editor wakes up and starts banging on the ceiling, calling, "when's that damn novel going to get finished!

"I let the characters and symbols emerge from me, as if I were dreaming...Dreams are reality at its most profound." (Eugene Ionesco)

Good for you, Niamh, tell your inner editor to back off for a while........happy dreaming, lovely quote by the way, I like to think that's the way I write, the characters kind of haunt me till I write their story.

Yes, definitely, tell the editor to back up a minute. She has to know her place, and let the magic happen!

Hope you get some rest and sweet dreams. It is kind of like cooking a wonderful soup...you have to let it simmer for a long while. :-)

@Old Kitty - I will and thankyou for your lovely comment on my last piece of writing - "miasma" I was most delighted!

@Brigid - I will - thats interesting, the characters haunt you untill you tell their story - I feel a short story idea in there!

@Niamh B - She's not happy, she's like Arnold Swarzineger -( "I'll Be back") in a bogwomans body.

@Carrie - I like the soup metaphor, I see a big cauldron..

I liken this to tuning out the static, so that I can get a clear signal on the radio. Some call it 'the zone'. In any event, if you're comfortable there, stay with it.
